There are an estimated 63,000 unpaid adult carers in the county but only 11,000 are known to the Worcestershire Association of Carers. Many of the missing 52,000 people don’t recognise themselves as carers and this seems to be the major problem. Even if a person has a relationship with the person they help, they are still entitled to support. Read more

It is your right to have a Carers Assessment. If you’re over 18 and provide regular unpaid care for someone, you’re entitled to a carer’s assessment. Worcestershire Association of Carers (WAC) is the delegated authority for carrying out Carers Assessments across Worcestershire. We complete Carer’s Assessments on behalf of the Local Authority, Worcestershire County Council. Read more

We provide help and support for unpaid Carers in Herefordshire so as to give them a break from their caring role, reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and develop opportunities for peer support. Together with Worcestershire Association of Carers, we also act as a voice for Carers living in Herefordshire. We facilitate and promote events where Carers can be represented and their views listened to, respected and valued. Read more
