We also provide an Employee Assistance Programme to provide valuable help at all times our online employer package supports staff to build resilience through raising awareness of wellbeing, particularly mental wellbeing.

Quote from staff member

“WAC allow me to be the employee I can be. They value their employees and in return we are dedicated and loyal. “ Micki Stimson, Executive Support Office

Investing in staff development

Our staff training policy supports our mission by facilitating the development of a team of staff and volunteers who are competent, efficient, focused on delivering an excellent service whilst being highly motivated to continue their own personal development and contribute to the organisation as a whole.

Staff wellbeing

We are proud to hold the Worcestershire Works Well  Level 2 standard for staff wellbeing

Our benefits include:

  • A staff wellbeing fund
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Hybrid/flexible working arrangements
  • 'Carer Friendly' policies

We are also a Disability Confident Employer

Principles

Shared Responsibility

Personal development is a shared responsibility between staff and their Managers. We encourage and support training and development. However, within the organisation individuals are expected to contribute to the process through active participation in training opportunities as they arise.

Balance of Benefits:

Whilst training to improve operational effectiveness will be given priority, we will support and encourage personal and professional development.

Staff Development Framework

Staff development is achieved through in-house training, external training, events, conferences, exhibitions and visits. It is monitored and reviewed formally by annual Appraisal. Training needs analysis is undertaken on an Organisation wide basis to determine additional gaps in training.

Induction

A full induction programme is available to all new members of staff to familiarise them with their role and the aims of the organisation. During the probationary period staff will be supported by a designated member of senior staff who will review their progress on a regular basis.
