  1. About Us

Who We Are

THE HOME OF SUPPORT FOR ALL UNPAID CARERS IN AND AROUND WORCESTERSHIRE

We are a registered charity providing a range of information, advice and support to carers. The charity was founded by a group of carers in 1997 with the aim of being an organisation run by carers for carers. By a carer we mean anyone who provides any of the following unpaid support to a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental ill-health or substance misuse problems.

In everything we do, we work in line with organisation's values:

Caring

  • We value and care for our people – carers, patients, staff and volunteers; we care about doing a good job and take pride in doing it well; we have empathy and compassion

Integrity

  • We are an independent voice for carers and patients; we work together with honesty and within clear boundaries; we are committed to ethical decision making; we pay attention to equality, equity, fairness; we are trustworthy, transparent, reliable and open; we deliver on agreed actions - ensuring what we say, we do

Person Centred

  • We are approachable and take time to listen, understand and communicate; we work as a team and share knowledge; we support carers and patients to make the best-informed decisions; we are respectful and non-judgemental; we work as a team to offer high quality and tailored services to meet our clients’ needs

Inclusive

  • We tailor services to meet local need/communities/cultures; we are aware of the barriers people face and work with carers and patients to overcome these; we value working with partners; we make people feel welcome

Proactive

  • We reflect and learn to inform change, improvement and innovation; we are responsive, flexible and adaptable; we are active influencers; we are well informed and connected; we strive for excellence
