MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

Our Community Mental Health Link Team work in partnership with the NHS Mental Health services to offer specialist support to Carers, caring for someone with Mental Illness, as well as Carers who themselves are service users of Mental Health Teams.

Our Community Mental Health Link workers will:

  • Support Carers to navigate Health & Social Care services and be recognised as expert partners in care.
  • Provide a range of support based upon an understanding of Carer’s needs and the needs of the person they care for.
  • Provide access to appropriate information resources.
  • Help Carers tackle day to day issues that occur as a result of caring for someone with a mental health condition.
  • Support Carers to manage their own Health & Wellbeing.
  • Provide Carers with opportunities to engage in groups. Carers who face mental ill-health will have the opportunity to access one to one or group interventions to equip them with coping strategies and mechanisms for self-help.
