AGM and Carer Conference - 'Caring Communities - Caring Worcestershire'

Worcestershire Association of Carers is a membership organisation which encourages all of its members to have a say in future developments. Our 2018 AGM was held on the 17th October at Stanbrook Abbey, Worcester. The AGM was followed be a Carer Conference based around the theme of 'Caring Communities - Caring Worcestershire'.

Impact Report 2017-18:

WAC Memorandum and Articles of Association:

There have been some changes to both the Memorandum and Articles of Association. The main changes are:
• To permit WAC to raise funds through trading (Memorandum of Association)
• There will no longer be the need for Associate Members (Articles of Association)
• The reference to a Management Committee has been changed to a Board of Trustees

Election of Trustees:

Judy Adams & Helen Whatmore were newly elected as Trustees, while Diana Fulbrook & Mike Genge were re-elected.

Awards:

The Howard Brooksbank Award

This award, which is for commitment to carers, was presented to Nancy Croft. Nancy was one of the founders of WAC and was also the first chair of the Board and remained on the Board until very recently. Nancy’s son Mark collected the award on her behalf.

The Barbara Moore Volunteer Awards

These awards were presented to Coral Handley, Catharine Jones, Helen Lubin, Louise Loveridge,
Sylvia O Farrell and Gary Philip. All recipients were thanked for their hard work and dedication in supporting carers.

The Nancy Croft Caring Communities Award

In honour of Nancy Croft leaving us as a long standing trustee and WAC founder we have created a new award: The Nancy Croft Caring Communities Award. This award is in recognition of someone who has gone above and beyond to support carers. This new award was presented to Helen Lubin, by Nancy’s son Mark on her behalf.
