Stourport Canal Basin Guided Heritage Walk Stourport Canal Basin Guided Heritage Walk Join us in stepping back in time on this lovely guided walk around the historic Stourport Canal Basin. You will explore some of the historic sites along this walk and whilst listening to the guides descriptions of the these fascinating buildings surrounding the canal basin and their lively history. The walk takes approximately and hour - hour and a half depending on questions and interest from the group. Your guide will welcome interactive discussions and questions. We will start off at The Tontine Stables and loop around the lower and upper basins relaying all of the relevant historical information as we go. There are plenty of places to sit and rest and we take it a leisurely pace! We then walk up to the Ticket Office on York Street where people get a chance to see our mini museum and historical artefacts. Please meet Colette at 10:15am promptly in the Stourport Funfair Carpark, Bridge Street, Stourport-on-Severn, DY13 8UY (please note that there is a charge for parking which you will need to pay for) and we will walk down to meet the guide together at Tontine Stables next to Windlass Cafe. Following the walk you could maybe get together with some fellow Carers from your group to go for coffee in town if you wish. Please note that due to the uneven paths and some steps in this historic area, this activity may not be suitable if you have limited mobility. However it is not a challenging walk in terms of fitness and will be leisurely in its pace. A deposit of £10 is required to book your place on this activity / event, which will be refunded to you upon attendance in full. If however you find you have to cancel your place on the event and provide us with more than 24 hours from the day of the event notice, you will still be refunded as this will enable us to offer your place to another Carer on the waitlist, however if you cancel less than 24 hours of the day of the event, we will unfortunately be unable to refund your deposit. Equally no-shows will be unable to be refunded. Thank you for your understanding.
