We would like to share some of the activities and events we have been doing with Male Carers over the last year thanks to Sanctuary who we are really grateful to as they have, for the last two years, funded our Male Carers events and activities. This funding has enabled us to do some fantastic events for Male Carers and it isn’t too late to join in!

Recent activities have included a focus on Men’s Health with a Wellbeing Workshop in December at the Fold in Bransford. We then warmed up a cold January evening with a Turkish Feast in Worcester and kept the warm and dry theme going in February with a guided tour of the Commandery Centre in Worcester. However we always love to mix things up and keep our Male Carers on their toes so we followed  that in March with a very wet Clay Pigeon Shoot at South Worcestershire Shooting Ground.

A lot of fun was had with expert individual tuition, and everyone dried off with bacon baps and coffee! Our Male Carers then eased gently into Spring with a relaxing meander on the water on Cecilia Community Narrow Boat with a lovely trip from Alvechurch down the canals and lunch at Hopwood House. This week they are taking a trip down memory lane with a visit to the Black Country Museum and in July, we are going to put our energies into working with clay which is so therapeutic with a Potter’s Wheel taster class in Honeybourne. August will see our Male Carers aiming at being modern day Robin Hood’s with an archery session and picnic and September we continue our focus on Men’s health with a walk in the Malvern Hills.

Our Male Carers Activities provide a crucial break from caring as well as friendship and peer support. It’s great for your Mental Health to take some time out for you so why not join us? Keep a look out for our events on our website under “What’s On”.
