Falls, Fractures and Frailty courses Falls, Fractures and Frailty ACT in partnership with Worcestershire Association of Carers is offering a free 3 hour Workshop on Falls, Fractures & Frailty designed to help carers gain the knowledge and skills required to help reduce the number of falls experienced by cared for individuals. Course Outline: By the end of this session you will be able to: Describe what is meant by the term Frailty and explain its impact on an older person’s health and well-being, and evaluate and apply a range of frailty assessment tools. Identify key risk factors in falls and explain ways in which you could work to reduce the incidents of falls in your/cared-for’s own home. Show how you would use the ‘top to toe survey and the ‘get up off the floor plan’ Identify a range of common factors affecting bone health, types of common fractures, and common complications and associated health risks linked with fractures. Be able to assess the risks of falling and plan to reduce the incidence of falls, using mini case studies and by referring to relevant health services and support in order to reduce unnecessary strain on primary care services.
