Parent Carer Forum

Families in Partnership

‘Families in Partnership’ is a Parent Carer Forum. A Parent Carer Forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children who work with local authorities, education, health and other providers to make sure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and families.

ABOUT US

What are our aims?

Our strength is our shared experience.

Families in Partnership Aims to Empower Parents through:

• PARTICIPATION:

We support and enable the participation of Parent Carers in the decision making which impacts on their lives.

• POSITIVE INFLUENCE

We act as the first point of contact for Agencies within Worcestershire that require any Strategic consultation on SEND.

• LISTENING & SHARING

We will communicate with other Parent Carers, ensuring that all SEND children in Worcestershire have the best possible outcomes.

National Network of Parent Carer Forums and Families in Partnership

The National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) is the independent national voice of parent carer forums. The NNPCF is a representative organisation; it consists of up to 152 local parent carer forums at any time across England. Each of the 9 geographical local authority regions is collectively represented within the NNPCF Steering Group. This means that each region has a parent carer forum representative whom has been appointed to represent their regional and local interests at the national level to empower and enable strategic parent carer participation. Families in Partnership have two Parent Carer Representatives attend the Regional meeting.

Working in Partnership

As the Department for Education Parent Carer Forum, Families in Partnership are invited to attend Worcestershire County Council meetings that require the representation of children and young people in the County. As a Parent Carer your insight into shaping services and service delivery is invaluable and Parent Carer involvement is acknowledged as a vital part of providing or developing Services.
