Safeguarding At Worcestershire Association of Carers, we recognise the importance of keeping carers safe, the person that the carer cares for safe and the vital role carers play; particularly in these times, in being the eyes and ears on the ground, what is really happening and what really matters to carers. This helps us to understand what is going on for carers and how we can take this and make active contributions to the Safeguarding work happening across Worcestershire. It also helps us understand what a safeguarding issue may be and what might be a quality assurance issue and how we can raise these with carers in mind. In fact, carers being safe is so important it is in the Carers Strategy as a cross-cutting theme. For the latest Carers Strategy, please visit the Carers Partnership page for more information. If you are a family member, friend or someone providing support or care to a person with care and support needs you can find out more about safeguarding in Worcestershire here. Here at Worcestershire Association of Carers, with the support of carer representatives, we actively contribute to the Worcestershire Safeguarding Adults Board. Here, we are able to share carers issues and experiences to inform the work of the Board. We work closely with the Worcestershire Safeguarding Adults Board Manager and also through the work of the Carers Safeguarding Reference Group, have a direct link to the Board. We are always on the lookout for carers to get involved and help inform this work. You can do this in a variety of ways; as a carer representative, expert by experience, becoming a member of the Carers Safeguarding Reference Group or share with us your experiences or story. We want to hear from you! Contact us here. You can find out more information here about our Carers Reference Group Meetings: Terms of Reference currently under review can be found here. 04.08.2022 Agenda 12.05.2022 Notes
