As well as running for us every year at the Worcester City Half Marathon and 10k run, Lindsay continues to raise money fro WAC, by taking on another challenge: running 81 miles during May - a mile for each year of his age!

A little while ago we got to speak to him about his running:

How long have you been running for?
I ran cross country during National Service 1961. After a long break I started again in 1981. In 1984 I ran the London Marathon.

How much training do you do?
I train daily! I vary my training with steady runs, hill reps and flexibility training. My running club coaches give advice.

What keeps you motivated to go running?
I’m a bit obsessed! I’m also inspired by desire to stay fit, slim and healthy. I love running with my grandson Maxwell. He is 10, is autistic and loves to run! We’ve been running in events together (junior park runs) since he was 4! (During lockdown, he is unable to run with his Grandson, so goes for early morning runs by himself).

Why do you choose to run for Worcestershire Association of Carers?
I’ve been a carer for wife Beryl since 1998 and I got help and good advice from WAC.

What would you say to someone thinking about starting to run?
Running is wonderful! If you run, you keep fit and keep happy.

What a star! Good luck with your challenge Lindsay!
