News & Events Stories and news Celebrating Volunteers Week 2017 Volunteers Week 2017 Volunteers week is all about saying thank you to the many volunteers we have at WAC. We rely heavily on volunteers to help us achieve our outcomes and support more carers. If you are interested in volunteering please email: [email protected] Thursday 1st June - We held a drop in event at our WAC shop in Droitwich. We are very lucky to have a fantastic shop team and volunteers help with a wide variety of tasks from window dressing to sales to cataloguing the stock and everything in between. Friday 2nd June - Some of our wonderful volunteers joined us to ask others to 'get on board' with Volunteering at the good ship Volunteer in Droitwich. Tuesday 6th June - We held another drop in event, this time at our WAC Office in Blackpole, Worcester. When we take on volunteers we hold training sessions and these are at our offices so we wanted people to come and have a look round and meet the WAC staff. Wednesday 7th June - Volunteers Conference For the last day of Volunteers week we held a collaborative celebration with The Stroke Association, YSS, Onside advocacy and CAB and WHABAC at Perdiswell Young peoples centre. The event was a HUGE success and the volunteers present were keen for us to put on more events. We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves, learned a little more about the other organisations but mostly we hope they know just how grateful we are for all of the time, dedication and skills they bring to their roles. HAPPY VOLUNTEERS WEEK 2017 !
