We have been chosen as Worcester Music Festival's Charity of the Year

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Worcestershire Association of Carers has been chosen as Worcester Music Festival's Charity of the Year for their 2018 weekend event. The Festival, which takes place between Friday 14 and Sunday 16 September 2018, is hosted across the city centre and celebrates the arts while supporting a different local cause each year. Festival goers will be encouraged to donate  during one of the festival’s 250+ live performances over the weekend.

The Music festival is a fantastic local event and we are looking forward to being involved. Community support is so important to us as a charity and we hope to use some of the money to start a carers choir, as we know how uplifting music can be in peoples lives. We also hope to be able to put some of the money towards 'Carers Unlimited' a new project that is enabling us to provide carers with respite events and health and wellbeing sessions.

As many of you know we are  just into celebrating our 20th year so this is a fantastic start to 2018 for us.

Nicola Boraston, the festival’s charity co-ordinator, said

“It’s important for the festival to support worthy causes and Worcestershire Association of Carers is definitely one we’re passionate about. In the past, we’ve supported Worcestershire Young Carers so we’re looking forward to continue our support for the caring community.”

The festivals announcement page said 'As a service that supports the selfless, the association is one that well and truly deserves the support of the festival'.
