We know many of you are stuck at home and feeling the stress of events surrounding coronavirus. Exercise can help boost our mental state as well as our physical health, so as part of your permitted outside exercise, join us in the WAC virtual 5k event!

Our virtual 5k event can be run, jogged or walked from any location you choose. You get to run your own race, at your own pace!

  • Sign up to our virtual event – entry is only £5
  • Complete the 5k distance during May or June
  • Track your distance and upload your evidence
  • Receive your medal in the post

Your 5k can be in one go or split up into as many smaller distances as you require. We're sure most people will want to do 5km, but if this is a bit too much for you, how about going for 5000 steps, or an imaginative alternative to achieve your '5k'. Make sure you record your distance and submit your evidence to us at [email protected] - your medal will then be sent to you in the post!

 How to track your distance

If you have a tracker, Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch, phone app (like Strava or Nike Run Club) or any other similar recording device it is easy to record the runs, just upload a photo or screenshot of the overall miles for the month on your evidence form and that is it! Done!

If you don’t have access to a smartphone or recording device, it’s not a problem either. Just make a note of the miles you have completed in a training log, whether this is on a spreadsheet or handwritten. You can work out the mileage of your route using online maps to calculate how far you’ve run if you’re unsure of the distance.
