News & Events Events Mental Health First Aid for Carers Mental Health First Aid Training Mental Health First Aid is as important as physical first aid Mental Health First Aid Training is a mental health awareness and skills course which includes a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. The training is open to anyone affected by or interested in mental health. Each participant takes away a copy of the MHFA manual which is an excellent resource and on completion of the training will also receive a certificate. At the end of the course you will have: An understanding of common mental illnesses. Ability to spot signs of mental illness Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness Skills to support positive wellbeing. Content of the course About Mental Health First Aid Stigma and discrimination Depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders and psychosis Applying Mental Health First Aid action plan Recovery This training course will be delivered over 3 sessions. Please note attendance is for all 3 sessions. Individual sessions are not available.
