Did you know that if you have served in the armed services, including National Service, you may be able to access a whole range of support and services in Worcestershire?

WAC are thrilled to be working in Partnership with Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire Joining Forces service to hold a Carer Awareness event in Activity Room 5, Perdiswell Young Peoples Leisure Club, Perdiswell Park, Droitwich Road, Worcester WR3 7SN, on Monday 14th of January from 10.30 until 12.30 (sandwich lunch will be available). Limited free parking is available.

Joining Forces is working to improve the quality of life and well-being of the many older veterans in Worcestershire. They offer practical, emotional and financial support, as well as connecting people with local services, military organisations and social groups within the community.

Service coordinator Gemma Warden says, “We offer personalised support and advice, this can include things like benefits, aids and adaptations and accessing the many military-specific services. We want to ensure that older veterans know that support is there for them, no matter how long they served for.

If you are a carer caring for someone who served in the armed forces or did National Service – it doesn’t matter where or for how long – you may be able to access support that could really make a difference. Make sure you know what’s out there by coming along to this informal event where you will be able to talk to a range of service providers to see what’s on offer.
