First Aid: Basic Awareness

Thursday 14th February, 9.30am - 12.30pm

Wednesday 6th March, 9.30am – 12.30pm

First Aid Basic Awareness: Aims to: • Identify the key priorities of first aid and how to manage first aid incidents, including getting support • Carry out a top to toe survey  • Demonstrate how to deal with choking, bleeding, burns and scalds, fractures, nose bleeds and shock  • Detail necessary infection control procedures  • Explain how to deal with an unconscious casualty • Indicate how to report incidents

In collaboration with Worcestershire Association of Carers, Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire are offering training opportunities for carers in 2019.

Just like with our Falls, Fractures & Frailty sessions in 2018, family carers will have the chance to learn alongside care workers, sharing experience and skills.

These group sessions are highly recommended and provide valuable information, advice and practical skills. They are relevant for family carers in all types of caring roles.

We are pleased to offer this at the hugely-discounted contribution of just £10 per session which pays towards the training session materials, session certificates and refreshments.

Places are allocated on a first come first served basis and all strictly booked via Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire’s training department (see details below).

All the sessions take place at: Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire offices, Malvern Gate Business Park, Bromwich Road, Worcester WR2 4BN.
