Support Us Appeals Carers Breakfast Appeal 2017 Donate Fundraise In 2016 we asked carers what their needs were. They told us ‘meeting other carers’, and ‘taking a break from our caring role’. In November 2016, in Kidderminster, we held the first of what we hope will be many ‘Carers Breakfasts’. Nearly 30 carers enjoyed a tasty breakfast, chatter and a great opportunity to meet other carers and start new friendships. We are very grateful to Thursfields Solicitors who supported this event. The carers told us that the breakfast: “Had lifted my spirits considerably” “Had made me feel very positive and encouraged” “Had emphasized that we are not on our own and others have the same problems, sometimes worse than our own” In 2017 WAC would like to make this a countywide event by holding a Carers Breakfast event in: Bromsgrove, Redditch, Wychavon, Wyre Forest, Malvern Hills and Worcester City to make this accessible to carers from all parts of Worcestershire. Please help us make this possible: We need to raise £500 for each Carers Breakfast which pays for 30 carers to have a delicious start to their day in a lovely venue, with other local carers and with a contribution to their travel costs too. With your help our goal is to raise £3,000 which will offer 180 carers across the county this vital break from their caring role. Celebrating 20 years of caring for carers We help carers through support and advice to care with confidence and crucially make time to live their own lives too. There are some 63,000 adult, unpaid carers in Worcestershire and we currently help over 11,000 carers. In 2017, as part of our Anniversary year, we want to find and start supporting the 52,000 ‘hidden’ carers in Worcestershire too. We have been fortunate enough to be chosen as Malvern TSB's charity partner of the year. Their Malvern branch are supporting one of our Carers Breakfasts. For more information please click here. Thank you for donating.
